There are many good reasons for building a chatbot. In this blog post, we highlight the 3 most important reasons why we build chatbots.
1. Easier interface for your customers
In many scenarios, it is easier to just type what you want than to navigate through a Graphical User Interface(GUI). A smart chatbot would be able to identify the intent of the user and reply accordingly. An easier user interface would significantly enhance your chances of success.
2. Better ability to re-engage your customers
While you can send push notifications to most customers having your mobile app installed, you have no means to communicate with those who deleted your app other than email (in case they provided you with their email address). In case of chatbots, unless a customer deleted the platform on which your chatbot resides (e.g. Facebook Messenger, Slack, Skype, Kik), you will be able to proactively send a message to him/her. This can potentially increase your retention figures and hence the lifetime value of your customers (LTV).
3. Increase your growth potential
By providing your potential customers with a chatbot on a social media platform that they already use (e.g. Facebook Messenger, Slack, Skype, Kik), you enjoy a low barrier to entry (your chatbot is just one click away with no need to download anything) and your chatbot can get discovered or even promoted by the platform.
